i always get excited around this time of year, not only is it near the year of my birth but also we get nearer to halloween! Theres something about that crisp feeling in the air,horror films on tv and dressing up as zombies that really makes me feel good. Stapled to many of the yellowed documents were photographs of the prospective students. They were treasures! I tore through the folders and rescued every portrait I could find. I had to have them. Only later did I realize I had to publish them".

So begins the preface to Jesse Reklaw's Applicant. A priceless time-bomb of pop culture, Reklaw serves a compelling and secret look into an impossibly lost era. The book collects photos from the 1970s paired with accompanying comments from employers and professors. The results are absurdist, confusing, often hilarious and disturbing.

Crystal stilts play minimalist and melancholic, lo-fi and Flying Nun-redolent Ian Curtis-meets- Phil Spector garage fuzz which is pretty irresistible..Theyre one of those bands that i can seem to listen to at any time no matter what mood im in. Really is a great debut from this band that features frankie from the vivian girls on drums. Man i fancy that girl.

So this is the first post. I will update this as often as i can with decent stuff. I will also be using this to let people know about new products coming into the dead end kids store. In the meantime have a look at the pootube clip below. It was made by two friends of mine ben and jay. Its a music video for jays song "snowy days" on his debut album "yeti cave" out on lumenessence records. Its great to see a friends project come to life. i know ben worked real hard on this making all the costumes and masks in his shed as well as filming most of it with some of the super 8 camers he owns. if you like the tune check out jays mysapce.
